Inflencers (And Topshop) Vs Highstreet.

I am truly shocked by how make up trends change with time. How ‘trends’ change from the ultimate flick to the subtle nude lipsticks we all know and love.  With so many tutorials at our finger tips we are in an age where make up has the ability to make people feel and look our best.  Recently there has been an ever evolving chance for fashion brands and influencers to reach out into the Beauty industry.

Ever growing opportunities, its no surprises that the quality of products have sky rocketed, with many influential companies failing short. In some cases I find myself being drawn to influencers/ fashion branded products; more so than high street beauty brands.

‘With products rivaling the cost of the high-street influencer’s and alike are proof that no matter the  budget, everyone deserves quality’.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics.

Tanya Burr is a world renowned influencer with an insanely loyal fan base- the best kind in my opinion. It was no surprise when Tanya Burr cosmetics launched in Superdrug, it struggled to stay on the stores. Since Tanya has grown her empire and most recently launched, my personal favorite lipstick- ever, Bear Hugs.

Bear Hug, is stunning. The perfect peachy nude for day to day wear. I love using this product over a clear lip balm to create a stunning peach gloss effect. The colour last well into the day and only fades slightly when drinking copious amounts of coffee.

Being highly affordable(£6.99), Tanya Burr Cosmetics are really pushing the boundaries of influence cosmetics.  I have seen so many reviews on many of Tanya Burr Cosmetic’s, and I am so happy to say that I am a complete convert to this brand.

The only downside is that Superdrug tend to sell out of the brands products quite a lot, so visiting in stores will always be a little lack luster. Although, with many stores struggling to keep products on shelves, surely that is justification enough for Tanya Burr Cosmetics to expand more than ever.

TopShop Eyeliner

Sourced from Topshop
Topshop are really taking over the world. From LA to London Topshop have  launched a fantastic affordable cosmetic line with outstanding products. One of the massive issues I have with stores selling cosmetic products in stores is that many products get opened; sometime it can be really hit and miss, sometimes your lipstick has been swatched on someone else.

Topshop is obviously an incredible British Brand, being shown on LFW and creating stunning campaigns. Embracing ‘trends’ in both fashion and beauty, Topshop is really a cut above the rest. Having one finger on the pulse at all time- no one can discredit the ever evolving brand.

Having one finger on the pulse at all time- no one can discredit the ever evolving brand.

Topshop eyeliner both Kohl and Liquid are amazing, especially if you prefer a stiff wand as I do. The colour payoff is amazing. Many Liquid and kohl eyeliners can become washed out or faded. This budgeted Topshop eyeliner completely opposite; it is so dark and lasts a long time. Neither of these products are water proof, so they will move when moisture is around. But for the price, what did you really expect?

Real Techniques, any product.

Sourced from Boots.com
Real Techniques is a brand owned by the most inspiring influencers I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Sam and Nic Chapman have really introduced the idea of quality, yet affordable products.  I have not (and doubt I will) found a poor  Real Techniques product yet.

Real Techniques Miracle Make up Sponge is truly incredible. Varying different angles allow for the sponge to reach areas which a brush would find difficult. The microfiber foam soaks up any access coverage leaving your face flawless and not cakey. I find rinsing the sponge in water really helps with blending products together.

Pixiwoo is an amazing YouTube Channel and I am so happy that no matter the challenges they have in life really are building an empire which many can only dream off.

  1. I love this and love every RT product I've tried... wasn't keen on the sponge at first but now love it! They can do no wrong in my eyes... whenever anyone asks for brush recommendations it's them. Every time.
I've never tried the Topshop eyeliner (I can't do winged eyeliner...) but I've tried a few of the TB products, the bronzer in the palette reminds me Nars Laguna so recommend that. I need to try her lipsticks now! Xxxxx

    1. I completely agree, Real Techniques are seriously one of the best make up companies I have ever used. I totally agree with the sponge. I didn't see the fuss but now I can't be without it.

Winged liner is so difficult I completely get it. Yes! Its been driving me crazy what their bronzer reminded me off!

  2. I haven't actually tried products from any of these brands before! I have always been a bit wary of buying makeup from stores that more regularly sell clothing (like Topshop, H&M etc.) because I have been worried about the quality being bad - but it seems like Topshop's is actually pretty good! I'm always on the lookout for a good liquid liner so I may have to pick that up! Thanks for sharing!

  7. I completely agree with the comment about the real technique sponges! Aren't they great? I don't apply a base anymore because it's summer and my eczema makes it impossible, but they were a great way of achieving a flawless finish every time! Their eye brushes, too--I've recently tried some by makeup revolution and they just don't compare!
I love your recommendations. I'm definitely going to check out that top shop eyeliner. I haven't used a pen version in a while, since getting on well with the liquid version, but I'm definitely going to revisit it!

  8. I've never actually tried a single Tanya Burr product and I don't know why!! I always hear fab things about Bear Hugs too, maybe I just need to go get it haha! Real Techniques is also one of my favourite brush brands cause of them being vegan, microfibre so dry SO quickly, and they're reasonable too.

    1. Bear hug is seriously my perfect peachy nude. You seriously need to get your hands on it- although there is never any in store.
I have to admit I only recently found out that they're vegan. It definitely shocked me there isn't many vegan friendly brands on the high street. x

  9. I'm quite a big fan of Tanya's cosmetics (only happened recently) and I'm surprised at their quality as some items brought out by influences can be shockingly bad. Real Technique brushes are what started my addiction to brushes, and nearly 3 years later the first sets I got are still going strong.
