My skin care for the New Season.

Recently, I have been trying to create a new skin care routine which allows my skin to feel hydrated, but not oily. Having naturally oily skin I have really struggle to find products which don’t extenuate it . Over the past month I have tried new techniques, products and treatments to really help my skin. I thought I would give an honest review of what I have been doing and why.

Bare Minerals Eternalixir(£38.00)

This may come to no surprise to the regular readers, but I have been loving BareMinerals Eternalixir. Being formulated with calcium, plantain and baobab seed oil, this amazing oil is prefect for dehydrated skin. The two oils naturally separate but work in combination so well (after a good shake to mix together), the Eternalixir targets spots, dry skin and in my opinion would work well with most skin types.

Having combination skin (oily around my t- zone and then dry everywhere else)  I was so dubious about using oil and I really didn’t need to worry at all. The baobab seed oil, aids the reduction of oil, and allows for a manageable combination skin.

L’Oreal Golden Age 50+ Moisturizer.

Before I start to review this I have to be honest, I didn’t look at the packaging before I bought it- although I have been pleasantly surprised.

The thick formulation is amazing for occasional use for dehydrated skin. Using this product once a week, will make skin feel like new. A thick layer over oil leaves skin looking replenished and fresh.

Due to the thick formulation using this product more than once a week on sensitive skin can leave residue causing imperfections which ultimately will lead to break outs. Although, this is only relevant to people under the age of 50, as a formulation of moisturizer needs to thicker due to the loss of skins nourishment over time.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask- all of them (Superdrug usually have them on sale for £1.50).

These masks are genuinely the most hydrating sheet mask I have ever used in my life. Having initially been skeptical about the range due to the original leaving my skin slightly irritated. Although, obvious growth the moisture bomb range, garner has since changed formulas and introduced new scents, formulations and packaging. With the new developments within the brand I  was instantly interested in seeing if the new launches irritated my skin in the same way.

AND, they helped cool my skin in humid weather whilst still giving my skin a healthy glow. My favorite out of the new launches is the Chamomile, which I know I have talked about prior (as many of the products), yet I can see results and isn’t that all we want?

Simple, Micellar Face wipes

If you have been keeping up with my daily blogging you will know that these face wipes have been a game changer. The soft quilted wipe, is soft on any skin, removes make up like a dream and doesn’t leave any residue. Simple is such an affordable brand, so many people have access to it and I am so happy that I’ve found a great  budget branded face wipe (£4.00 for a pack of two in Sainsbury’s).

I hope you’ve enjoyed my review of my current skin care.  My skin is getting better and I really do think its down to the products I’m  using. Specifically targeting issues on skin can be really difficult, but once you learn and target these issue they will (hopefully) be a thing of the past.
